OK today was my last day of training and I was basically running the register myself and even answered the phone! There were a couple of things I needed help with as we hadn't done many on the previous days. I'm off tomorrow and at my store Saturday.

Hey guys!

I started my training today and it wasn't that bad and seemed to go by pretty fast. It's cashiering, something I have years of experience in, so I just have to learn their system. It's not the store I'll be in, but this is the woman to train with. Another plus for her, she lived in my old neck of the woods in New Jersey!

I have two more days of training and will be at my regular store Saturday.

(This will definitely slow the transcribing, but I will not stop so just be patient)

next week I'm covering for the regular receptionist 7:30-4-ish m-F as well as my regular weekend hours. Overall sun-Sat will be 54 hours!! Of course, their pay week goes W-T so no overtime.

Needless to say, not much time for writing, except maybe lunch hour.

Another week of 5:30 mornings. It's been a month now and my body has already made adjustments to this new schedule. I usually start drifting off around 10 and that's the time the only 2 shows I really watch right now start. (The Philanthropist and Psych) Both are programmed into the VCR. :)

We won't talk baseball. It's as simple as that. I think Co already expressed it quite nicely at her journal.

As you saw previously, I've gotten back into the stitching and I actually started on the names. I'll do a few more stitched on the top half and then I'll be ready to move to the bottom. All the final detailing I'll do all at once.

Writing is moving slowly. In my latest TOC/DW fic, I really have thought of an actual plot as I mainly wanted Alan to meet Donna so the action just might be secondary.

Not much else going on here so on with the quiz.

Well, a few things to catch up from last week. Last Friday I slept until 10 which is pretty big to me. It probably would have been later but I had to meet a friend to see The Half-Blood Prince. I wasn't really too impressed with it overall, but I know it just has to build for the final 2 installments. I had another week of 5:30 mornings and will next week too. (Yay!) What's weird is that my body is already getting used to its new schedule. I have the lights out at around 10 and asleep by 11 (my normal schedule is lights out around 12)

I've been slowly working on my writing and stitching, making myself do some of both before dinner and then one or the other takes over after dinner. My reading is not progressing at a normal rate either. I have a book due Sat and I'm maybe just a little over halfway done. I usually can polish off a book in a day or two.

But now to what you're really here for.

Sorry for the delayed posting, but my schedule has been thrown off. For reasons I won't go into, I have been working the opening shift at work which means getting up at 5:30am. Just look at the icon for my thoughts on that. I have the same schedule next week too. From what I've heard, it won't be permanent but it is until further notice.

I've traveled back to my high school tv days. I've been watching Remington Steele and Tales of the Gold Monkey episodes. They are just so much fun. I haven't been doing much stitching, but I will try and make myself do a little bit every night. The writing's coming along ok too.

Oh, and I'm looking into getting a laptop so if anyone has any info they'd like to share about brands, makes, shops, etc., please let me know.

I had another celebrity visit. I don't know if some of you remember but Tori AMos has a house in town and when she stays, she comes into our store. Well today, she was directed out of my line to one that had just opened. I turned to say hi and she gave me a hug! I have been hugged by an international celebrity! I had to rub it in and tell my very first online buddy who is a major fan. His reaction? "I. Hate. You."

Hm, where to start this week. As some of you may know already, the place where I work has just been bought out. The new owners are really nice--all family which is great. The third day in and I was already being thanked by name from the oldest brother/president of the business. How cool is that? Of couse we have to learn their way of doing things so it's a bit mad there now but things should settle soon.

Saturday was my best friend's birthday so we went to a concert a few towns up the line. What concert, you ask? 1964: The Tribute. Yep, a Beatles tribute band. They've been together 24 years! My brother had seen them last year in Baltimore and told me about them last November. I went to he website, saw they were gonna be around and marked the calendar. If you like te Beatles, I'd say go and see them. They had the mannerisms down as well as the banter.

Now for the answers from lst week.

They don't mix anymore. Someone was offended by the Hitler quote and so now I have a boring screen saver. I can understand why they were upset, but to me it was just a quote I found interesting and could pertain to any country at any time. I typed an apology and taped it to my monitor so whoever it was can see my reason for it.

So, that means you people will get my full concentration on quotes now! Aren't you lucky?

Nessun maggior dolore
Che ricordarsi del tempo felice
Nella miseria
(There is no greater sorrow than to recall a time of happiness in misery)

The concert was great last night. Different than others I've been to as the music is not the kind you belt out along with the act. I'm glad I went.

The ride home was an experience as usual. Why is it that things always turn around in the dark? Our first little problem was that we ended up on a round one block south of the one we wanted, but as we were going in the right direction, we eventurally came to 95. OK, we're going good and get up to Palm Bearch, and, to avoid traffic, the driver decides to get off and take US1 up. Problem is, the exit she takes is to an area where US1 kinda disappears. So, we drive around West Palm Beach in circles eventurally we end up back at 95 and my other friend and I talk her into taking the highway as it was right in front of us. Due to the detour, I got home a little later than if we had left it alone. Needless to say, I felt like a zombie at work today.
