Damn DVD

My DVD player decided to go on strike this morning and won't recognize any discs, burned or bought. I cleaned the discs and used compressed air on the player but to no avail. I'm gonna rest it for a couple days and try again.

Anyone have any tips?

I'd say throw in the towel. My multi-region Samsung player works great and cost less than $50. :)

Thing is, it's one of those VCR/DVR combos which is kinda hard to find for a good price. Most only come with just recording VCR, not both. It comes in handy when condensing my collection. Otherwise, yeah, I'd get a new one.

oh, I see your problem. I have a 5 CD changer that no longer changes CDs.... but the other drive burns CDs from whatever source in my stereo system.... yours being a DVR does make it more precious, esp. if the VCR half still works.

If only there were still people willing to fix things. :P I am a fogey.
