Well, today was a day of remembrance around the world. I was deep into a Beatles phase (it has faded somewhat thanks to Co weaning me off) when my mom woke me up for school the following day by saying "Oh, by the way, one of the Beatles died". I went through the whole day in a stunned silence, not wanting to comprehend what had happened. It wasn't until that night listening to WNEW out of NYC when one of the DJs played "Imagine" and then said something like "That's it. That's enough. He's gone." I broke down into tears and probably cried myself to sleep. I've made a few visits to Strawberry Fields and the Dakota during my trips north. Today to work I wore one of the shirts I bought there ( a picture of a strawberry followed by "fields forever") and played the soundtrack to Imagine in the car. My small way of commemorating the moment.

One of the ironic things I noted. The first time the Beatles came to NYC they stayed at the Plaza Hotel. John died outside the Dakota where he lived. Both buildings were designed by the same man..
