I took part in the 1st gen iPod nano replacement program Apple had going. Basically, the batteries were"misbehaving" and they had essentially a voluntary recall.

"In some cases due to limited availability of replacement stock of iPod nano (1st generation) Apple may have replaced your iPod with a more recent iPod model of equivalent or better specification."

I got a 6th gen nano!! OOhh, I'll be playing with this for awhile!

Happy New Year!!!

to Stupid. I went up to Best Buy with my iPod because as I said previously, it was not being recognized by iTunes. So I expect to exchange it for a new one under their 2-year policy. So, they ceck it out and the guy's like "I just reset it and it's fine". At this point I mentally slap my head. I always thought that was just if it froze so I didn't even try. Hence the name change. Oh, I did finally get some compatible speakers though.

According to iTunes, the poor thing is corrupted and I can't do anything with it in Windows. No updating, synching, nothing. I tired all the suggestions I've found on the Apple site but nothing works. I bought it at Best Buy and have a 2 year warranty on it so hopefully this is covered. I'll go there Saturday when I'm off and hopefully can get it either fixed or a TARDIS 2.0. Fingers crossed

I went and bought myself a new one this morning using my birthday money. I got a blue one (so you people who know me can guess what I named it) and it can hold twice as many songs as poor Serenity. Now, I didn't get rid of her, oh, no. I plan to keep her until her battery completely dies. She'll be my backup, mainly used for audiobooks to listen to while I go walking. Oh, and I can watch movies and videos and such on the new one. It'll be like a new toy!

ETA: Major squee moment when I saw the Doctor and Donna step out of the TARDIS! Damn this is cool!

I can now finish my Tennant cross-stitch. I had to drive up to Michaels to get the thread I needed as the closer JoAnn's Fabrics was out yet again. While I was there, I picked up a frame kit for that Celtic cross-stitch I finished in April (http://jpgr.livejournal.com/37700.html#cutid1) and I also picked up some fabric to have should the need arise. I then popped into Circuit City and Best Buy to check out the iPods as my little Serenity's battery is way below par. According to Apple, a fully charged nano should run 14 hours--mine ran a little over three. Supposedly, they will replace my iPod for a small fee ($59) so I was just checking out what the new nanos go for ($149). Tomorrow or Sunday I have to make a run to the Apple Store down in Palm Beach Gardens. I'll keep you all updated.
