Winter in Florida
Dec. 13th, 2010 07:33 pmYep, it's 48 outside and they're predicting a low of 30 for our area. Of course, those of you in the northern climes are rolling your eyes and making little "pffft" noises. I understand this is nothing to you and next week I'll be there with you. I got my suitcase down from the attic and picked up a few necessities today so I can start picking away at packing. Tomorrow will be a cold day so I'll be warming things up by baking spice cake for the neighbors. (And Co, I'll be making some when I come north)

I just checked and it's 2 months since I last did the lyric post.At this point I think we'll forget that ever happened and start over now with Christmas songs. I really feel it now as it's diving into the 30s overnight tonight and tomorrow night. Most of you are like "yeah, so?" but remember, I live in South Florida

Back to Normal
Jan. 16th, 2010 11:42 amIt now feels like Florida again these past few days. Palm Beach County actually set a record with the most consecutive days with temperatures under 45 (11). It's mid 70s now but overcast with on-and-off showers.
It's been 6 months of 7am mornings for work and it's hard to make myself stay up till 11! I used to go to bed around midnight all the time now it's strange territory.
I've been re-watching Supernatural, sparked by some fic I was reading. Talk is that this might be the last season and I wonder how they will end it. Will one die? Both? A happy ending where they give up hunting or will they just pick up and keep going? So many ways to go with that.
24 starts up tomorrow! Can't wait.
I've actually been making myself work on the stitching for at least an hour a day so I can see some progress being made.
As for the writing, I'm juggling between two fanfics now, the latest DW on the back burner.
Spring Training tickets go on sale next Saturday!

Has It Been That Long
Jan. 9th, 2010 04:02 pmSince I had a "regular" post? I bet all of you have been on tenterhooks waiting to know the quote and songs. I'll get to that in a minute.
Top Story: They say it'll be in the low 30s tomorrow when I head for work at 6:30. I had to drag out the gloves and scarf though I'm not sure if I'll need them both. I've had the Irish knit out all week. I haven't checked the news recently but they said there's a chance of snow just a couple couties north in Vero Beach and Melbourne.
Entertainment News: The reign of Ten is over. I'm still a little sad but yet I'm looking forward to Eleven. All the tv shows are starting back up after mid-season hiatus or (in the case of 24) starting new seasons. The recorder will have to be programmed again.
Nothing else earth-shattering as my life is a smidge on the dull side. The countdown to the Buble concert has started, though. Two months from tomorrow!

A Cold Day in FL
Feb. 5th, 2009 08:27 amIt's in the mid 30s now and will warm to the mid to high 50s. I know to most of you that's a warm spring day, but it's major news here. It just gives me another day to wear my Irish-knit sweater.
