Christmas 24
Dec. 24th, 2013 10:16 amFor me, this had to be the last post. It is Luke 2:1-19 in the King James version with the original spelling.
( 1And it came to passe in those dayes, that there went out a decree from Cesar Augustus, that all the world should be taxed.1 )

Christmas 20, 21 & 22
Dec. 22nd, 2013 05:34 pmWe consider Christmas as the encounter, the great encounter, the historical encounter, the decisive encounter, between God and mankind. He who has faith knows this truly; let him rejoice.
POPE PAUL VI, speech, Dec. 23, 1965

There has been only one Christmas — the rest are anniversaries.

I'll be home for Christmas
You can count on me
Please have snow and mistletoe
And presents under the tree
Christmas Eve will find me
Where the love light beams
I'll be home for Christmas
If only in my dreams

Christmas 17
Dec. 17th, 2013 09:01 pmLike God, Christmas is timeless and eternal, from everlasting to everlasting. It is something even more than what happened that night in starlit little Bethlehem; it has been behind the stars forever. There was Christmas in the heart of God before the world was formed.

Dec. 16th, 2013 07:32 pmHe spoke not a word, but went straight to his work,
And filled all the stockings; then turned with a jerk,
And laying his finger aside of his nose,
And giving a nod, up the chimney he rose;
He sprang to his sleigh, to his team gave a whistle,
And away they all flew like the down of a thistle.
But I heard him exclaim, ere he drove out of sight—
“Happy Christmas to all, and to all a good night!”
― Clement Clarke Moore
And so, I'm offering this
Simple phrase to kids from
One to ninety-two
Altho' it's been said many times
Many ways
“Merry Christmas to you”
- Mel Torme

Christmas 11
Dec. 11th, 2013 07:26 pmMr. Copper: I am Mr. Copper, the ship's historian. And I shall be taking you to Old Londontown in the country of UK. Ruled over by Good King Wenceslaus. Now human beings worshipped the great god Santa, a creature with fearsome claws, and his wife Mary. And every Christmas Eve, people of UK go to war with the country of Turkey. They then eat the Turkey people for Christmas dinner. Like savages!
The Doctor: Excuse me. Sorry, sorry. But where did you get this from?
Mr. Copper: I have a first class degree in Earthnomics. -
---Doctor Who "Voyage of the Damned"
(It had to be done!)

Christmas 5
Dec. 5th, 2013 10:18 pmSome says, that ever 'gainst that Season comes;
Wherein our Saviours Birth is celebrated,
The Bird of Dawning singeth all night long:
And then (they say) no Spirit can walk abroud,
The nights are wholesome, then no Planets strike,
No Fairy takes, nor Witch hath power to Charme:
So hallow'd, and so gracious is the time.
Shakespeare
From Hamlet, Act. i scene i.

Christmas 4
Dec. 4th, 2013 07:47 pm“At one time, most of my friends could hear the bell, but as years passed, it fell silent for all of them. Even Sarah found one Christmas that she could no longer hear its sweet sound. Though I've grown old, the bell still rings for me, as it does for all who truly believe.”
