Hello, All!

Picked up a new laptop the other day. It's smaller than my previous one and I need to get used to the new keyboard which makes typing a little slower. I hope to continue with my Psych character facts as well as writing and transcripts.

It's only been 2 new eps of Doctor Who so I can't really say how I feel regarding them. Yes, I'm excited it's back, but they really haven't grabbed me.

I've seen the first two episodes of Heroes Reborn and I remember enough of the original series to get some of the references.

The CW shows begin next week which are the ones I'm really looking forward to.

It's currently 48 degrees outside (8.888 in celcius) and damp. We didn't get the heavy rains but it's still nasty. I remember coming up here to visit my sister one year and got snow flurries at the end of October.

And, as you can see by the icon, I am very happy with my New York Mets who have made the post=season for the first time in 9 years. Obviously I want them to take the World Series but I'll take each round as it comes

With the show ending tonight, I thought I would go through and pick out my favorites. There were four that instantly came to mind and I stopped at 12. I will admits, most come from the first three seasons. This will be video heavy so I will cut.

Amazing!!! )

Feel free to add more or discuss what I've posted.

to the new Supernatural tonight. The hunt takes place 30 minutes from my new home! The last CT episode (Playthings) took place 30 minutes from one of my sisters

My older brother was down for the weekend to celebrate my dad's birthday and I asked him if he had ever seen "Supernatural". Ends up he had seen the pilot, liked it, but couldn't find it again. Anyway, last night we sat on the couch and watched "Pilot" and "Wendigo". He laughed at the appropriate places. (Cop: Do you have anything that's real? Dean: My boobs.) He also finched/jumped as well. I mentioned it's available online and that TNT shows reruns. However, they won't be on season 1 again until at least December. He said to tell him when they do start up. Makes me happy!

OK, picked up an inexpensive DVD player yesterday at Wal-Mart (by LG) and set it up this morning. We watched three more episodes of White Collar and we're almost done with season 2. It was so nice watching it without having to re-start the damn thing. Plus this one plays burned dvds so we can watch my copies of season 4 taken from the TV.

Oh, and I got Mom to watch the first episode of Broadchurch yesterday (it's On Demand) and she found it "intriguing". 10:00 is on the late side for her so we'll catch it On Demand as it progresses.
jpgr: (LOM Sam Argh!)
I've been watching "White Collar" with my parents. Mom's seen bits and pieces but never from the beginning. However, our stupid DVD player in the living room decides to periodically freeze. Most of the time, I can just stop it, count five, hit play and it works. Sometimes I have to skip ahead to the next chapter then rewind. Other times I have to turn it off and start over again. Just now, about 15 minutes or so into the season one finale, it does its thing and I go through all of the above and nothing works. It then gets to the point where it won't turn off unless I hold down the power button. Right now it's taking a little rest and maybe we can get it to work so Mom can find out if Neal gets back with Kate.

It really is time for a new one but if anyone knows of some tricks to prolong life here, I'll appreciate it. I've used a lens cleaner and even compressed air.

Wha'?

Just saw the end of series 2 of The Hour. How could they end it like that?
jpgr: (RH Legend)
Just rewatched the finale to Robin Hood and I've gone through four tissues. The goodbye scene and then with Marian in the woods always gets me.

I've brokn down and started watching Criminal Minds mainly due to the crossover fanfics I've read. I kne of the show, I remember when it started, basically due to Mandy Patankin. Anyway, I had planned to wait until the reruns came around to season 1, but there was a slow Sunday afternoon and a marathon on A&E.

I've seen most of 4, 5 and bits of 6. I found season 1 DVDs at the library, tackled season 2 streaming and am waiting for season 3 DVDs to be returned at the library.

I will say that the guest casting is fabulous, taking actors you wouldn't expect to do such roles and just letting them have fun. James Van Der Beek was wonderful and the "kid" from Malcolm in the Middle (sorry, I can't remember his name), not to mention C. Thomas Howell, Wil Wheaton, Sean Patrick Flannery. I know I've an ep with Tim Curry yet to see.

If there are any fans out there who have favorite fics to rec, please share!

Why is it that a show that aired 10 years ago can still make me cry everytime I watch it? I know what happens, I tell myself not to cry, but I don't listen.

The episode, if you're wondering, is John Doe 1x14 Ashes to Ashes. I wish this show hadn't been cancelled. Ironically, it premiered the same day as Firefly.

I still think it's a great show and if you haven't watched it before, give it a try. The premise: A man wakes up naked on an island off Seattle with no memory of who he is and where he's from, and yet he's a walking encyclopedia. Of course, he uses this knowledge to help the police while trying to find out about his past.

This seems to be the day for posting Michael Buble. I was looking for something else and found out he was in "The X-Files"!!! He was about 21.

I found the Australian series (Miss Fisher's Mysteries) streaming online and I love it!! I've watched all but the last as I type this, I've gone and gotten the first book from the library.

Basically Phryne is one of the Bright Young Things of the 20s. She was raised in a poor family in Melbourne but her father comes into a title and she's sent away to finishing school in Europe. She returns to help a family friend and solves a mystery. She likes the idea so much she stays and becomes a detective.

The novels are by Kerry Greenwood.

Here's a trailer for one of the episodes.

This show is intriguing so far. The thing that has me smiling? Ioan Griffudd gets to keep his accent!! He's not pretending to be American! OK, it's not his true Welsh accent but I'll take it. :)

I have found a new addiction: Chuck. I had seens bits of episodes and liked what I saw so last week I started from the beginning and I'm now on season 3.

I have had to make myself stop watching so I can make some progress on the transcript for The Hungry Earth. I've also begun posting my Psych/Torchwood crossover even though it's only about halfway done.

The Mets had fun playing spoilers over the weekend but I'm already thinking about March and spring training.

I know it's been ages and I apologize.

I've started going back to Curves. A present from Co when she was here in APril. I went twice and then got sick. The owner was very nice and is adding my time now to the gift month. What's strange is that some of the women recognize me from work. I usually go after work (3-ish) and it's quieter which I like. It does go by quickly, too.

I spent a big chunk of the past few days doing a transcript for the first ep of the new series of Doctor Who. I think I'll take short break and try to catch up on some other typing for a Psych fic. I also need to look over my latest original story. I sent the first draft to my beta and he recommended some changes. OK, did that and was feeling quite confident about it. Sent it again and the beta demands more changes that to me seem to ruin the symmetry I had going. I need to see if I can fix it in a way we'll both be satisfied.

Now all the tv seasons are ending, some shows for good. :(

Supernatural: Yes, I will admit I did get choked up, especially at that montage and Dean keeping his promise.

Castle, NCIS, NCIS: LA, Bones, Fringe, The Mentalist all end this week too. (not sure about FlashForward) Friday marks the last ep of Ashes to Ashes which promises to answer the questions posed both in that series and Life on Mars, chief among them being, who is Gene Hunt. So can't wait. Oh and Saturday could see the end of Legend of the Seeker.

Sunday is the last ep for Lost and I believe next Monday is the end of 24. At least June 3 sees the return of Burn Notice with both White Collar and Psych returning in July. I think I'll have to do a post on finales later.

I think I have the meme cleaned out enough so here we go.

Not much new going on since the major purchase of last week. I kept meaning to get back on and post the past couple of days but all plans seem to pop out of my head the minute I go online as distractions come at me one after the other. Both the writing and stitching are moving along though not exactly at the pace I wanted.

My copy of Children of Earth arrived Friday and I haven't gotten around to watching it yet though I should at least with the commentaries as I promised it to a friend at work who doesn't get BBC either. Life on Mars should be coming in the next couple of days.

I'm still watching episodes of Remington Steele and now I've added The Adventures of Brisco County. After seeing Bruce Campbell recently in Burn Notice it's weird seeing him with all that dark hair. :)

It's happened finally! Yes, I am in a fabulous mood. The new Dr Who series has been bought by SciFi and will start airing in March! I know there are a large number of those who have done the whole bit-torrent thing and downloaded them. (I probably would have if my pc weren't a wee bit on the slow side.) The DVDs were originally planned to come out on Valentine's Day but then the BBC said "Nope. Ain't gonna happen" but in a very British way. Ah, but now we know the reason. The new date is July 4.

Let's see, what else is happening/will be happening? The US Figure Skating Nationals started tonight and run through Saturday. I think the Australian Open (Tennis) starts next week.

In tv we have 24 starting up Sunday with 2 hours and I believe 2 hours Monday. Lost returned last night with Mr Eko's backstory. I think Veronica Mars starts this coming Wednesday. Next Friday John Doe takes over for Firefly Friday at 7pm on SciFi.

On Saturday the 21st a couple friends and I will be going to the South Florida Fair down in West Palm Beach which is always a fun day out. But that morning will be time to buy Spring Training tickets!

I think that's it for now.............
