Even thought I had to get up at 5:30 this morning. That seems to be the new Saturday schedule for me at work. I don't really like the early start, but I do like getting home at around 3:00. As I was getting ready to go, I saw a customer wearing the "You Never Forget Your First Doctor" shirt. It looks really good in person. Needless to say, I started a conversation. This is the first real-life Who fan I've met. We would have talked longer if I wasn't being rushed to clock-out by the manager.

The Mets are actually on a roll! I love it. They actually had a marvelous game on national tv. (C'mon, [livejournal.com profile] dakfinv, you have to admit it was great)

The stitching is moving ever so slowly and there is no way it will be done in time for the wedding. I've decided to bring it with me, a work-in-progress, just so they can see it.

I went and saw Wolverine on Tuesday. It was interesing to see his beginnings and to pick out things that would later appear in the other movies.

I'm skipping over a few entries of quotes in order to find one that I think the majority of visitors have read.

"After all, to the well-organized mind, death is but the next great adventure."

1. A lonely mother gazing out of her window Staring at her son that she just cant touch
2. It's been seven hours and fifteen days Since you took your love away
3. I dont mind you comin here And wastin all my time
4. I read the news today oh boy

Yes, I actually went to a movie--the first since Pirates in July. What did I go see, you ask? Casino Royale, I answer. I'm not a Bond fanatic like some I know, but I have seen them all--including the unofficial first Royale with Woody Alan and Never Say Never Again which brought Connery back to the role. (He should have let that offer pass). With this background, I can say I rather enjoyed it. I had no problem with Daniel Craig--he has charm in spades, and, well, those eyes--and he carried off the part wonderfully.

Now, this is his first 007 mission so we get to see how things start off. He did get to ride a '64 silver Aston-Martin--briefly--and we see him order his vodka martini for the first time and how it follows him throughout a section of the movie. The one thing that bother me was in the keeping of Judi Dench as "M". If this was supposed to be his first mission, "M" was male. Judi Dench didn't get the part until Goldeneye and her promotion was commented on. They could have kept her as the person who would becom "M" and mayb make references to some other "higher" authority since they couldn't get the casting they wanted.

That's just me, anyway. Fun movie and lives up to Bond standards

OK, so this morning was jury duty. Oh, yeah. I brought a brand new book with me (525 pages) cos I know that it's mostly waiting and I would go absolutely nuts without a book (a major trait in the family). So 8:00am I'm at the courthouse patiently waiting in line as everyone is checked in and given forms to fill out. The clerk gives us all a little peptalk about the judges that might be going to trial and then we see a nifty little video put out the by the FL Supreme Court about the many wonders of jury duty. Long story short, we were all dismissed come 12:00 and I had read over 300 pages.

On the way home to celebrate my good fortune, I finally bought a cellphone, one of the cute little flip-open Motorolas. I'm in the process of searching for just the right ringtone. Of course I checked out some of the Beatles tones but they just sounded so fake. It then hits me this evening "Why not Dr Who?" I found a couple of nice ones, but still have some more searching to do.

OK, so yesterday after work, I did go see "Bewitched". It was cute, fun, lighthearted, everything it was meant to be. At times I felt Will Ferell a bit overpowering, but I did like Nicole Kidman in such a light role. It's nothing to rave about and go wild over, but it was fun. If you want something cute, I'd say this fills the bill.

Oh, and the Mets take a series in the Bronx! Too bad it wasn't a sweep, but I'll take what I can get. : )

Wow, has it been that long? Heh, pretty amusing that my last line segued into this entry. I saw "Batman Begins" this afternoon and I think CHristian Bale was marvelous as Bruce Wayne. A great combination of angst and playboy. The other cast was killer as well with Michael Caine, Gary Oldman, Liam Neeson, Morgan Freeman and Rutger Hauer. Kaite Holmes was ok. This is the only thing I've ever seen her in. Thankfully, I never saw the attraction of the Creek. You learn why he chose the bat, his training, and how he gets the gadgets. I liked the fact that the villans weren't cartoonish (Joker, Riddler, etc) but real with true reasons to explain theie actions. I wonder if they'll do another with him. If they do, I'll be there!

I think the next movie on the list, possibly leading to the next entry is "Bewitched". Who knows?

I went to see Revenge of the Sith this afternoon mainly for the reason that I've seen all the others as they came out in the theatre. Can I say Bo-Ring? All I really needed to see was about the last 30-45 minutes and I would have been happy. Really, there were parts I was ready to take a nap. Hayden Christensen, as my sister pointed out, has limited inflection. The only moments I liked were with Ewan. In my head I couldn't help but refer to him as "Ben" Kenobi. : ) If it weren't for the ballgame on tonight, I would have pulled out my video of IV A New Hope---the original! which I think is still the best as it can stand alone and you don't need to get bogged down with all that came before or that was to follow.

OK, I'm done now. How long till Batman Begins and Christian Bale?
