Update

OK...

I've just finished updating over at [livejournal.com profile] psych_ch_facts up through season seven including the musical. When that is complete I plan to start back up with my Dr Who transcripts.

I will admit my writing has fallen off but I will try to work on both stories I have going now but I won't make any promises.

I am also working on a cross-stitch for the latest addition to the family, a great-niece who was born in January.

Spring has arrived as we have crocuses and snowdrops in the front yard. This is our first spring at this house so it's fun waiting for them to bloom.

Yeah, I've started writing that Psych/White Collar fic, pushing Merlin to the back - again! With just the intro (double prologue and reunion scene) I'm sitting at 2300 words. My three betas are wonderful, restraining by wandering mind and words, telling me to expand stuff I gloss over and trim what I concentrate on. I've no idea of a title and really no idea for the crime, but I'm working on it.

With the fall TV season back, it gives me more time to work on that cross-stitch that should have been done in July. Ah, well.

Stitching

I believe I posted a couple of years ago about a Gaelic themed pattern I did. It was one of two and I finally finished framing it and have them right by the front door.

I will admit I was doing a little dance and chant last night after the Mets beat the Yankees 4-0 last night. There were a couple of scary moments as twice the Yankees had the bases loaded. We've just come off two sweeps so I won't hold my breath here, just take my happiness where I can.

I'm seriously writing what could be the last scene of my Psych fic with a chance at one more if I decide to go a different way. I've been posting it in parts on my fic journal to get some constructive criticism as the beta I had lined up never responded past a couple of emails. I've also begun my transcript of 5x4 The Time of Angels and hopefully it won't take so long as the last one.

The stitching. It's becoming a monster. I really need to make myself work on it. I think I'll be taking it with me to New Jersey and maybe get some done during the day (if possible).

Really not much else going on so...

Hello everyone! I hope all has gone well since we last spoke. As Sister Co already knows, I signed up for a year membership at Curves. (She's the one who gave me a gift month) Today was my second weigh-in, and, although I only lost 1 lb, I've lost .20% body fat, 1" from my waist, 1.25" from my abdomen, .5" from my thigh and 1" from my arm. I think those are good signs. Now I just need to work on getting my appetite under control.

My transcript for Victory of the Daleks is coming along a little slowly as I've has some later afternoons this week but I'm just over the halfway mark. My Psych fic is near done--at least the writing part--and then I need to type it up. The beta I had lined up over at Psychfic.com never got back to me so I may resend to her or start asking for another. I do have the first 3 parts up at my fic journal in the hopes I'll get some constructive criticism.

As for the stitching, I need to make myself work on this thing for more than an hour at night, if that. I'll send a card to my nephew and his wife and hope they'll forgive this breach of wedding etiquette as this will not be done within the year of grace.

OK, baseball. Mets are tied for second, 2.5 out. Who are we tied with, you ask? The Phillies! According to mlb.com, we have more wins than they do (and mores losses too) so that makes me smile.

I know, I know. Some of you are about ready to faint as it's been so long. I keep telling myself "Oh, I have to post" and then the notion evaporates. SOrry. Even so, not much is going on. I only have one more tv finale left (Glee) and then the summer shows start up. (Burn Notice last night) As for the stitching, I think I need to request dispensation from my nephew and his wife as there is no way this thing will be done within the required year.

I am making some progress on my Psych fic and posted the first bit at [livejournal.com profile] psych_tv just to see what people thought and of the two who have responded, it seems positive. I might make a start on the transcript for 5x3 of Doctor Who today inbetween cleaning the closet (always fun, right?)

In somewhat pointless trivia, today in 1983, I graduated high school. I can't believe I remember the date like that. What's even more amusing about this is that [livejournal.com profile] coquillagement sees my ol' alma mater more than she does her own. :D

It now feels like Florida again these past few days. Palm Beach County actually set a record with the most consecutive days with temperatures under 45 (11). It's mid 70s now but overcast with on-and-off showers.

It's been 6 months of 7am mornings for work and it's hard to make myself stay up till 11! I used to go to bed around midnight all the time now it's strange territory.

I've been re-watching Supernatural, sparked by some fic I was reading. Talk is that this might be the last season and I wonder how they will end it. Will one die? Both? A happy ending where they give up hunting or will they just pick up and keep going? So many ways to go with that.

24 starts up tomorrow! Can't wait.

I've actually been making myself work on the stitching for at least an hour a day so I can see some progress being made.

As for the writing, I'm juggling between two fanfics now, the latest DW on the back burner.

Spring Training tickets go on sale next Saturday!

Anything else? Nope, not really.

I apologize for the delayed entry. I was talking with Co this morning and she told me that I need to do other posts, not just my quiz. I do, sometimes when there are topics that intrigue me or I want to share something. Right now, I've just been forgetting to post even the quiz so bear with me if it tends to be the same-old, same-old.

Anyway, my sister "George" (on the Weasley scale) is having a landmark birthday in a couple weeks and I've been working on a CD compilation which is always fun to piece together. Just the other day my brother-in-law said he'd like to do a surprise party, mainly just family, so I began looking at flights and no matter how I cut it, it would be $300 for the weekend. Really can't afford that now, especially with the new car payments. I'll send the CDs to "Fred", the responsible sister, and she can take it along to the party. I just want many pictures to be taken and shared.

The stitching, well, let's just say I haven't been working on it as much as I would like. The writing is coming along and soon I'll be able to merge the two parts together and rewrk the end a bit. If anyone is good at choreographing fight scenes, I need one done and I promise to give credit!

OK, little happening here in the way of, well, anything. I've been ignoring my stitching though I plan to make up for it tonight while watching Flash Forward. On the writing front, my TOC-Ten-Donna fic stalled and I've now moved on to or a previous fic. I had originally planned to do a fic completely in one POV of a character abducted and tortured while on suspension so no one realizes he's missing for about a week. (That's a little seed you planted, [livejournal.com profile] dakfinv!) After sending it to beta, the recommendation came back to work a concurrent plot with his brother and friends trying to find him. That's the part I'm working on.

OK, not much has changed over the last week. Still early hours, still working on the stitching and writing. One thing is that I've taken it upon myself to create a Doctor Who Guide for a friend of mine to help ease her into the classic series. I've done a brief synopsis of each episode and am now working on a profile for each incarnation of the Doctor and companions. If you think I should include something else (perhaps the Master?), let me know.

Another week of 5:30 mornings. It's been a month now and my body has already made adjustments to this new schedule. I usually start drifting off around 10 and that's the time the only 2 shows I really watch right now start. (The Philanthropist and Psych) Both are programmed into the VCR. :)

We won't talk baseball. It's as simple as that. I think Co already expressed it quite nicely at her journal.

As you saw previously, I've gotten back into the stitching and I actually started on the names. I'll do a few more stitched on the top half and then I'll be ready to move to the bottom. All the final detailing I'll do all at once.

Writing is moving slowly. In my latest TOC/DW fic, I really have thought of an actual plot as I mainly wanted Alan to meet Donna so the action just might be secondary.

Not much else going on here so on with the quiz.

Well, for me, there are about 3 "first days" of summer. 1)Openning Day of the baseball season, 2)Memorial Day and 3) the Summer solstice, the "true" first day. Well, wherever you were yesterday and whatever you did, I hope it was fun. As I didn't have plans until later in the day, I was ready to sit and watch the French Open on tv and work on my stitching. ESPN seemed to have different plans as they did not televise the tennis. So I missed watching Nadal, Federer and Roddick. Today, I will get to see Blake and Djokavic so that makes up a bit.

I have been neglecting my stitching so badly these past few days so I plan to really work hard on it today.

As for my writing, I have a few more scenes left to go (at least in my head) but that might change when it comes to the actual writing. I think I may need to do more on that than just at work on my lunch.

I'll be heading up to Maryland in one month so I have to start figuring what errands and chores I can do ahead of time so I'm not breaking my neck on that last day off before the trip. I will admit I am a list-maker when it comes to packing and travelling. If I don't, things are very easily forgotten even if it's something used all the time. Hopefully I won't have to add worrying about hurricane shutters to the list.

Slept in and caught up on some viewing that is piling up. I did see the semifinals for Eurovision. It's a very weird thing for a Yank to watch. The two songs I really like so far are from Armenia and Portugal. (Don't spoil me please about the final!) I have piles of DVDs to go through and I think afterthe season finale of "24" tonight and the season finales tomorrow night of "NCIS" and "The Mentalist", I'll have the time to catch up.

The Mets are still in first place despite losing last night so we'll just have to hope they have LA's number because then it's on to Boston.

As I mentioned before, I'm revamping my icons and included some more of the "lesser" fandoms before entering the "Big 3" of Doctor Who, Torchwood and Life on Mars. It should come out to 30 icons each.

The stitching is moving very slowly and I'll try to get a picture tonight or tomorrow.

Even thought I had to get up at 5:30 this morning. That seems to be the new Saturday schedule for me at work. I don't really like the early start, but I do like getting home at around 3:00. As I was getting ready to go, I saw a customer wearing the "You Never Forget Your First Doctor" shirt. It looks really good in person. Needless to say, I started a conversation. This is the first real-life Who fan I've met. We would have talked longer if I wasn't being rushed to clock-out by the manager.

The Mets are actually on a roll! I love it. They actually had a marvelous game on national tv. (C'mon, [livejournal.com profile] dakfinv, you have to admit it was great)

The stitching is moving ever so slowly and there is no way it will be done in time for the wedding. I've decided to bring it with me, a work-in-progress, just so they can see it.

I went and saw Wolverine on Tuesday. It was interesing to see his beginnings and to pick out things that would later appear in the other movies.

OK, now that company is gone and Co is back home, it's time to continue posting. Not much is going on so I think a quick rundown is good.

1. Stitching: It's coming along well though I still have my doubts it'll be ready in time for the wedding July 3. I'll put up a picture later in the week.

2. Writing: My story revolving around The Sound of Drums has been posted around LJ and on some other fic sites but still no reviews. :( I'm working on its sequel so hopefully that should be up soon.

3. Fandom/TV: Prison Break started up again Friday. However, there are only 4 episodes left. Ashes to Ashes also returned this week and with a new underlying mystery regarding Alex. I got to watch Planet of the Dead with my niece and nephew the Saturday before Easter. It wasn't "wow" in any realy sense, more of a romp. Nothing new until around November according to RTD. Oh, has anyone else been catching the Firefly winks in recent episodes of Castle?

4. Baseball: OK, not a great start by any means, (below 500 at 6-7) but it's early days yet.

OK, I think that's everything so now to what you've been waiting for.

OK, now with the baseball post done...

Hm, what to talk about?

I'm really trying to get myself working on this cross-stitch but I really don't think it'll be done in time for the wedding. I really should've started sooner.

Writing: Well, the first part of the fic is done. This being the part that relates to The sound of Drums. I just need to watch the episode again (yeah, tough, I know) to get some more of the details down. If you think i should post chapter format (small installments) or sectional (larger pieces) or wait till it's all done, let me know.

2 weeks until the first visitors arrive. I think I will need to do a major cleaning of the room which may require the moving of furniture for vacuuming.

Other than that, not much else going on so here comes the quiz
