According to iTunes, the poor thing is corrupted and I can't do anything with it in Windows. No updating, synching, nothing. I tired all the suggestions I've found on the Apple site but nothing works. I bought it at Best Buy and have a 2 year warranty on it so hopefully this is covered. I'll go there Saturday when I'm off and hopefully can get it either fixed or a TARDIS 2.0. Fingers crossed

That sounds like it should be covered, and trust me, I know Best Buy return/exchange policies. :)

The only reason we never accept iPod returns are if they're a) out of policy; b) have no Gadgets & Gizmos or the old replacement plan plans; c) have obvious physical damage that would have caused the iPod to malfunction.

At my BBY, we usually don't bother trying to repair iPods, we'll give you a new one, that being said, I don't know what you're BBY will do. Sometimes our Geek Squad agents will erase then reformat the hard drive, but that's usually for freezing issues. I don't know about corruption issues.

Long story short - since you bought the 2 year plan (smart you! i would get it on iPods, we see tons of those come back with issues), and you didn't smash up your iPod, you're covered.

Just sit back, relax, and let Best Buy give you a new iPod. :)

Oh - and make sure to bring the headphones and USB cable that came with your iPod. If you need to get a new one, they won't exchange it if you don't have all the parts that came with it. (Manuals and packaging included.)

Christ. I really need to get published and quit that damn job.

I meant manuals and packaging excluded, as in, you won't need those to return the iPod.

It's late. I shouldn't be trying to think at this time of night. :P

Thanks for that. Granted, when I typed "Best Buy", I knew you would have something to say. (I just didn't expect so much) I have everything all together. I didn't even use the earphones as I still have the ones from my old one.

My hold button broke and the iPod's been stuck on hold for eight months. It's older, so no warranty. I had to laugh because I looked on on-line and sometimes this problem can be fixed by banging the iPod against a desk or table. Gee, I wonder how someone figured that out?

Goddamn, stupid, iPod, WORK! *slam* Oooh, look at that!

Thanks. According to [livejournal.com profile] dakfinv who works at a Best Buy, it shouldn't be a problem. I just don't know what happened. I never had this with my old one.
