According to iTunes, the poor thing is corrupted and I can't do anything with it in Windows. No updating, synching, nothing. I tired all the suggestions I've found on the Apple site but nothing works. I bought it at Best Buy and have a 2 year warranty on it so hopefully this is covered. I'll go there Saturday when I'm off and hopefully can get it either fixed or a TARDIS 2.0. Fingers crossed

Date: 2009-02-06 04:39 am (UTC)The only reason we never accept iPod returns are if they're a) out of policy; b) have no Gadgets & Gizmos or the old replacement plan plans; c) have obvious physical damage that would have caused the iPod to malfunction.
At my BBY, we usually don't bother trying to repair iPods, we'll give you a new one, that being said, I don't know what you're BBY will do. Sometimes our Geek Squad agents will erase then reformat the hard drive, but that's usually for freezing issues. I don't know about corruption issues.
Long story short - since you bought the 2 year plan (smart you! i would get it on iPods, we see tons of those come back with issues), and you didn't smash up your iPod, you're covered.
Just sit back, relax, and let Best Buy give you a new iPod. :)
Oh - and make sure to bring the headphones and USB cable that came with your iPod. If you need to get a new one, they won't exchange it if you don't have all the parts that came with it. (Manuals and packaging included.)
Christ. I really need to get published and quit that damn job.
