I'm in my brother's basement office in the quiet, relishing only the sound of the printer. I arrived in CT Friday afternoon and played a little with my nephews (4, 6, 8) and watched the US Open with my parents and sister. Co arrived around 9:00 and we just happened to have the Mets game on. Bookworm and I slept on the couches in the playroom while the 5 boys shared a room upstairs. However, when they woke around 6:00 we relocated. Then around 10 or so the Maryland contingent arrived and things were a bit mad as we all rushed to change and prepare for the party that started at 12:30.

It was in a new building situated on the Mianus River which is where we used to keep our boat when I was little. It was very strange seeing people I hadn't in close to 20 years! There was lots of reminiscing, and talk of lives since last meetings and in some cases it was like there had been no interruption.

When the party was over there, the family relocated to my brother's house where the little ones ran around with the dog, played catch in the backyard, and the older ones played some horseshoes. The meltdown started somewhere around 9:30 (I think)so I drove back with Co to my sister's house and I had a aerobed while Bookworm got the larger couch. I think every available spot at my brother's was taken. Two of my nephews actually took their sleeping bags and slept on the chaises on the porch!

Thw next morning everyone slept in. Luke, Shrek, and their young cousin didn't come down until after 8:00. Bagels, coffee and tea were had before leaving for church. Shortly before they were due back, Ed went in to wake up Bookworm so she could do her meds and have breakfast before the madness started again.

The kids then dressed in their bathing suits as it was going to be a scorcher. CO and Ed also packed up the car because they would be leaving from my brother's. My other sister packed up a bag for her boys because she, her husband, and my dad were going to the final day of the US Open. In 2 cars we drove to my brother's were everyone else was gathering for lunch. We had coldcuts and rolls set out as well as some of the leftover salads from the day before. My sister-in-law also foisted some of the leftovers on the travelers, especially the pre-made sandwiches from the party.

Everyone started leaving around 1:30, Co being the first as Luke had a baseball game at 5:00. Then the first Maryland group left. Then both groups for upstate CT. The last to go was my oldest brother, his wife, and youngest son. After that, my sister-in-law went upstairs and took a long needed nap!

Later that evening, my brother took us out for a little harbor cruise, pointing out a number of the large waterfront estates including one that used to belong to Trump.

Now today, I have no idea what to do with myself!
