The BBC aired what was to become the longest-running science fiction TV show. Of course they were short-sighted and trashed a large chunk of episodes form the 60s but some are actually being found today in some strange places. I became a fan around 1980 or so after first thinking it was the most ridiculous thing. Of course, I was going through an Egyptology phase as the Treasures of King Tut were still touring at the time and the episode "Pyramids of Mars" was being aired on WOR out of New York. That was it. I was hooked. I have a large number of episodes on video, (slowly getting the DVDs) I've got all the novels (as well as a good portion of the novelizatiosn of the tv shows) and I also have some Marvel comic books and audios. And I know there are more obssessed fans out there. I just try to spread the word, as it were, to convert. Sometimes it sticks and sometimes it doesn't.

Well, I felt I just had to share

Happy Birthday Doctor Who!
