1. She still had that country girl air about her but she also now had a certain business-like quality too.
2. The wound itself was a clean slice but it seemed to glitter as if something were inside, residue from the blade.
3. He tilted his head back to see his hands tied by a thick rope that had been fed through a large metal loop screwed into the ceiling.
4. The only thing that would make this moment any better was having a certain woman of the female persuasion sitting next to him instead of his best friend, but it was still good
5. Knowing it was her way of politely saying she had no idea of what the food was, Holmes smiled and chose something that looked like brains and squid.
6. She wanted to run the minute that thing faced them but remembered that most creatures would attack if you ran
7. Some nights he helped out bartending but what he enjoyed most was working on the nightly ghost tours.
8. “Why doesn’t it surprise me? Drop-dead gorgeous bloke and he disappears.”
9. He must have dozed off at some point because the next thing he knew the sun was streaming in and the attendants were coming through with coffee.
10. They made their way to the tavern and were soon ensconced in chairs in front of the common room fire.
