Boys of Summer

Yep. They're here. Baseball 2006 has arrived. Yeah, there's a lot of nasty talk going on with steroids etc, but I try not to let it ruin my enjoyment of the game. It also brings up fun childhood memories of listening to the immortal Bob Murphy calling the games on the radio with the windows wide open. My dad did take my sister and I to Opening Day at Shea Stadium in '78 which also happened to be my first baseball game. They were playing the Expos and Jerry Koosman was the starter. I don't remember anything else. But it really didn't matter if they won or lost and I think for most kids going to games it's just being there that's special.
