My folks told me on Thanksgiving that they would pay my airfare so I could spend Christmas with a major chunk of family at my sister's in CT. I started thinking packing and planning immediately. Just the other day a friend from where I used to work sent an email for a new store opening the 16th so I applied. Now I am prone to building up worry and anxiety out of things that don't bother most people to the point to where I don't sleep well and have to keep myself occuppied before I dwell on it. (I was an absolute nervous wreck the first day of school every year, and coquillagement can testify to that) I'm worried that I won't get to have my mini vacation (I haven't bought tickets yet). So I heard some news today that makes me think I might luck out. The manager of this new store is my old manager from before the last store was sold (2007). I worked with her at least 10 years so hopefully I might get away for 4-5 days.

I think pre-paid vacations are usually understood and accepted by new employers. I know I've been asked about them at interviews in the summer.

Thanks for that. I need all the positivity I can get to put my mind at rest.That's what one of my sisters said, but with jobs the way they are, I'm going to wait a few days to see if I get called for an interview. If not, then I'm gonna get the tickets.

No stressing! I think Daisy's right, if they want to hire you, they're not going to NOT hire you because you already have Christmas plans.

Well, the prices on the flight I was going to take have already gone up. It was going to be for 10 days but I think now I need to shorten it to maybe 5, so more searching for me
