Went to a night game last night against the Orioles. This time our seats were behind 1st base. No pics this post as the important ones are very blurred. When [livejournal.com profile] donna88keys gets her post up, I'll link to it. You'll want to see them when I continue.

Now, last night was the last game in Port St Lucie this year so they pulled out all the stops. For the first ceremonial first pitch (sounds silly, but bear with me) was the Chief of Police for PSL. Now who can top that, you ask? Why actor Wilford Brimly. Ah, but we're not done yet.

Of course before the game there are lots of comings and goings on the field so I paid little attention to the golf cart that stopped in front of our section. I should have. On the screen they then played what I knew to be a clip from Happy Gilmore. Do you see where I'm going with this? Yep, Adam Sandler was there. According to the announcer, Sandler had just finished filming in Fort Pierce (the next town up from PSL). So of course everyone goes crazy.

So the ballgame starts and there are some great plays by both teams and it takes just about under an hour for 4 innings. They always have contests and what-not between innings and since one of their sponsors is a PGA club, they have a chipping contest. Now, the minute the announcer says "Straight from his win at the 'Name of Tournament I Can't Remember'" I was like, "No, it can't be. No way." But it was. Tiger Woods. He lost at the contest though. : )

The Mets won 2-1 in just 2 hours!

Oh, and [livejournal.com profile] coquillagement I forgot my phone last night or you would have heard this all first hand.

I had another celebrity visit. I don't know if some of you remember but Tori AMos has a house in town and when she stays, she comes into our store. Well today, she was directed out of my line to one that had just opened. I turned to say hi and she gave me a hug! I have been hugged by an international celebrity! I had to rub it in and tell my very first online buddy who is a major fan. His reaction? "I. Hate. You."

Yep, last week's quote was from Hamlet. And Co only missed one song. #3 was "Digital" by Joy Division.

Oh, and I don't know who remembers my previous brushes with celebrity but she's back in town and I saw her twice in three days! You new people to discover this journal will be like "Who the hell is she talking about?" Tori Amos has a house in town and she shops in our store and...she seeks me out! I love it. I think because I talk to her about her family and not her music and all the trappings. And, no, I haven't asked for her autograph!

Here's the quote for this week:

Don't worship me - I'd make a very bad god. You wouldn't get a day off, for starters...

OK, now for the iTunes shuffle...

1. I've been living with a shadow overhead. I've been sleeping with a cloud above my bed
2. Baby's good to me, you know she's happy as can be...
3. Have mercy, baby, on a poor girl like me
4. Our life together is so precious together, we have grown...
5. ...I won't forget, and that's a whole lot.
