A Day in NYC
Nov. 3rd, 2005 11:14 amI went into New York yesterday with plans to see "Spamalot". I walked from Grand Central to Times Square to the tkts booth where you can get tickets for Broadway plays at half price. There was a cold breeze blowing up Broadway and all the people in line were very bundled. Anyway, I get close to the window, at least to the point where I can see what plays are available and no "Spamalot". Not much of a surprise really, but I was hoping. So, I go into the Virgin megastore hoping they'd have some accessories for the new nano but the "associate" sai that as it was still rather new, they didn't have anything yet. They did however have a lot of Beatles stuff (books, tees, lunchboxes) but I was good and kept walking. I ignored the new Hard Rock across the street (if it had been closer to lunch, I might have gone in). Almost all of what I haven't yet seen in NYC is in lower Manhattan and I was not in the mood to walk or take public transport so I contented myself with a second ever visit to the Empire State Building. The wind was a bit heavy but it was so clear and lovely and I got some good shots. After that, i walked back to Grand Central, grabbed an over-priced dry sandwich and soda, and made the next train with maybe a 10-minute wait. Too bad Co and I couldn't have planned a meeting of sorts. The two of us on NYC? I shudder at the thought!
